About the project:
BillboardMe is about giving smaller retailers and service providers to opportunity to get a professional Internet presence for a fraction of the cost of maintaining their own website. Given the wide variety of members likely to join the site, the aesthetic of the site needed to be presented in a neutral but professional nature, ensuring that potential target groups were not alienated from using the site. It was also determined that for small suburban retailers and service providers geographical location was very important, with most developing small but highly loyal local client bases. Easy integration to Google maps markers was essential and all of this integration needed to be streamlined to ensure that any ‘technically novice’ members were not disadvantaged.
